The Boston Celtics took a commanding 1-0 lead in the NBA Finals on Tuesday night, routing the Dallas Mavericks 107-89 in Game 1 at TD Garden.
Jaylen Brown led the way for the Celtics with 22 points, while Jayson Tatum added 21 and Derrick White contributed 16.
The Celtics connected on 17 3-pointers in the game, including seven from Brown.
Kristaps Porzingis, who returned from a calf injury to make his NBA Finals debut, scored 20 points for the Mavericks.
The Celtics led by just 5 points at halftime, but they pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring the Mavericks 31-24.
The Celtics will look to take a 2-0 lead in the series when they host the Mavericks in Game 2 on Thursday night.
